All You Need To Know: Lipo Cavitation
What is Lipo Cavitation?
Ultrasound Lipo Cavitation is a completely pain free treatment which involves applying a cavitation head, which emits a high frequency sound waves to the area of the body being treated. The head is lubricated using ultrasound gel to ensure a good contact is made with the skin allowing the wave to travel to the fat. Whilst the treatment is pain free, there will be a faint tingling around the area being treated and you may also hear a high pitched sound as the sound waves travel through your skin, zapping that fat! Most clients describe the feeling like a warm massage around the area being treated.
When the cells have been broken down, we also use Multipolar RF to liquefy the fat which is then processed by your metabolic system as fuel for your body or filtered through your lymphatic system which will process it and then depose of it through your body naturally along with other body wastes like sweat and urine. This is a natural process that takes place daily by your body, the only difference with the treatment is that we also speed this process up and help to liquefy the fat so it's easily processed which in turn provides an instant result
Once the cells have been cracked, they have been basically destroyed which means they cannot regenerate in order to refill again, giving you your inch loss. But it’s not to say new cells can’t develop, ultrasound lipo isn’t a miracle treatment that takes away all your fat, like with any weight loss treatments, to keep up the results you have to maintain a healthy diet, drink lots of water and exercise regularly. We often say, we can remove 'love handles', but it's entirely up to you to maintain the results through simple diet and lifestyle changes.
Does the Lipo Cavitation hurt?
Lipo Cavitation is a pain-free procedure and requires no anesthetic. There is no anesthetic or numbing agent required during the treatment.
What are the advantages of Lipo Cavitation over liposuction?
No need for general or local anesthetic
Non-Surgical and Non-Invasive
No downtime – patients can return to normal day to day activities immediately (with liposuction surgery, downtime is usually 6-8 weeks)
No risk of infection, scarring, downtime and irregularities
How soon will I see results?
Often results are visible with the first session Lipo Cavitation, but will improve further over the course of 6 treatments. Maximum results require at least 10 to 12 treatment sessions per area depending on your size. However we find most clients will lose 1-3 inches after only 1 treatment.
Will the effect be long-lasting?
The fat cells treated with Lipo Cavitation will not return or re-grow, so that is a permanent effect. However, the length of time that the body shaping will last for is really in your hands. How much you eat and how much exercise you take will also affect your long-term body shape. So if you take in more calories than you use, you weight and fat will increase and the permanent removal of fat cells from your treatment will be hidden by your weight gain.
Are there any side effects?
Lipo Cavitation is an extremely safe treatment as it is non-surgical and non-invasive. However some people do experience some redness of the skin which should return to normal within a few hours.
Is there any downtime?
None. You can return to work immediately after Lipo Cavitation.
What happens after treatment?
You will need to avoid alcohol for 3 days after each treatment because your liver will be busy processing the fat that has been broken down by the Lipo therapy. Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated before and after treatment. Patient should be advised that following treatment they should maintain a low calorie intake. This will ensure that fat energy released as a result of the treatment is used by the body.
